Sculpture

Recently I have been exploring ceramic sculpture, exploring matrescence, myth, and the human body. I am interested in creating work that plays in the space between human and animal, artist and mother, tenderness and ferocity. For me, clay is a conversation, where the earth holds and reflects my touch, offering something new in return.

Howl- 2026

Howl explores gathering as connection and ceremony. The call across a distance that signals not only presence, but belonging. Rooted in the rhythms of Northern Ontario, this piece speaks to the enduring need to gather, to witness one another, and to be heard.

Journey- 2026

The idea for Journey arose following the birth of my daughter. I was unprepared for the emotional dissonance and loss of self I experienced postpartum. Rebuilding my identity as both mother and artist required a deliberate focus on creative exploration alongside giving myself the permission to prioritize this work. The slow process of building this wing- feather by porcelain feather- mimicked the slow process of building myself back into a person.
