Microwave and Dishwasher?
All the pottery sold by Sweet Earth Ceramics is dishwasher and microwave safe, unless otherwise indicated. However, hand washing will prolong the life of any ceramics. Be aware of thermal shock when putting ceramics into the oven or microwave, or into the freezer.
To avoid thermal shock, avoid sudden dramatic temperature changes. As with all ceramics, avoid thermal shock by not exposing your pottery to rapid temperature changes. Never put a plate from the fridge into the oven or microwave, never put a hot dish into a sink of cold water or the freezer.
Shipping is charged based on an 8" by 8" box. If your order is significantly smaller or bigger than this, I may be in touch with you to either refund shipping costs, or let you know about extra shipping costs.
I'm a one-woman show, so please allow me 1-3 days to pack up your order and bring it to the post office. I will always try to be as quick as possible! : )
Local Pick Up?
If you select 'Local Pick Up' as your shipping option, I will be in contact about a date and time for you to come pick up your item(s).
For a $5 fee, you can have your items delivered! The items will be delivered within a few days of your order, please contact me if you have any specific delivery requests.
Made to Order/Commissions?
At this time I am not taking commissions, however please reach out and let me know what you would like to see in the shop updates!
Sustainability and Packaging?
I prioritize re-using where possible (any plastic such as bubble wrap/packing peanuts used in my shipments are being reused and are never bought new). On that note- if you live in Thunder Bay, and have used packaging items such as bubble wrap that you would like to donate, I would gladly accept!
Otherwise, I pack with paper, and am investigating further sustainable packaging solutions for 2020.
This year, I am donating 10% of my monthly shop update sales to positive action and charity groups. Anti-racism and environmental justice are issues that I am passionate about and working towards. Each month, I will announce where the donation is going when I announce my shop update date.
